About this Blog

Over the past decades, I have been fortunate to travel to many U.S. cities, usually paid for by television productions.  And what better to do in a new city than check out their ballpark.  My goal is to visit the parks of all 30 teams, and with a little luck, I’ll reach that goal in the next few years.  Until then, take a look a my architectural, food, and general experience reviews and thoughts on each ballpark on the list.  Just click on the team on the left!

Brian's Ballpark Traditions

Upon arrival at a new park, I try to follow this routine which I have developed over the years:  After a few pictures outside the park, I enter and immediately find the nearest place to buy the most local beer I can find.  I then walk around the entire field on the bottom or main level to get a feel for the park.  Then it’s to the seats, wherever they may be – sometimes I’m cheap, sometimes I get the good stuff.  I mix it up.  I’ve been trying to snap a picture of the first pitch, but this just doesn’t always happen.  After a few innings and depending on game time, I usually try the hot dog or other local twist on ballpark food (ie Cheesesteak in Philly).  When it’s all done, I head to a souvenir stand to purchase a pin (I decided against hats after I realized how much they cost and how little I would probably wear them).  And of course, I keep my ticket in a safe place, (although lately the digital tickets leave something to be desired).

  • Athletics – Phoenix Municipal

  • Giants – Scottsdale Stadium

  • Dodgers/White Sox – Camelback Ranch

  • Rough Riders – Dr. Pepper Park
