Well, what can I say… At least the seats are cheap?

This multipurpose field is on it’s way out of use as a baseball stadium.  And for good reason.  It’s big, it’s ugly, it’s surrounded by blacktop and a freeway.  And it’s best use is really for football.

Kim & I were, however, able to see a piece of history.  We saw the last baseball game at Qualcomm Stadium.  And we have the ticket to prove it.

Besides a lot of highlight reels from the “glory” days at Qualcomm, formerly known as Jack Murphy Stadium, it was nice to feel a part of Padre’s history if only for a moment.  And there was a sense of excitement in the air as a new stadium awaits this franchise a few miles away in downtown San Diego.

Goodbye, Qualcomm!  Here comes Petco!
