ballparks
Okay, let’s be honest. This is probably the worst ballpark in America. This is one of the parks that all the new “retro” ballparks rebelled against. It’s a huge multipurpose concrete stadium (shared with the Oakland Raiders) built in 1968, and can seat 50,000 people. But since ballgames rarely draw that many people, the A’s have decided to tarp over the top deck. So awkward. And even with that, it’s still not full. Now they list seating capacity at 35,000 with the tarp. Very sad when you know what stadium is across the Bay. A’s fans are getting the shaft.
And although it’s situated in Oakland which is on the interior of the SF Bay, you can’t see the water from the seats. You basically enter the massive parking lot off the freeway and enter the symmetrical cement donut, turning your back to one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
Well, I knew it would suck. But I had to check it off the list. Not that interesting of food either.
